BROKEN OPEN Kintsugi Art Workshop — The Atlas Creative Circle Saturday 2 May 2026 · Melbourne In-Person Sanctuary
What if the crack wasn't the problem — but the beginning of something more honest?
Melbourne In-Person (Limited: 10 seats) For those who want a held room, embodied practice and a consistent circle Payment options: Term 1 payment: $420 2 Payments of $210 for 2 weeks.
In this in-person creative arts workshop, we work with Kintsugi: the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold. Rather than hiding the fracture, Kintsugi honours it — making the repair part of the beauty and truth of the whole.
In The Atlas approach, Kintsugi becomes a therapeutic metaphor and a hands-on creative process. Guided by transpersonal art therapist Valeriya Ogorodnyk, you will work with symbolic imagery, depth collage, and gold-line repair techniques to explore what has fractured quietly inside you — grief, rupture, resentment, or an old identity that no longer fits — and begin the process of witnessing it with compassion rather than concealment.
This session is part of The Atlas Creative Circle, a year-long creative and somatic field meeting fortnightly in Melbourne and online globally.
No artistic experience required. All materials provided.
Who this is for: Sensitive, high-capacity individuals navigating emotional transition, burnout, identity shifts, or unexpressed grief. Practitioners exploring creative arts therapy. Anyone ready to stop hiding the cracks.
What you will experience: — Polyvagal-informed nervous system regulation and grounding — Depth collage using shadow and underworld imagery — Kintsugi-inspired art process: repairing with gold line — Transpersonal archetype mapping — Somatic shaking and containment practice — Witness circle (group sharing, no fixing, no advice) — Shadow-to-Strength card practice to carry into the fortnight
