THE FLOATING Art Marbling on Paper · Flow Art — The Atlas Creative Circle Saturday 13 June 2026 · Melbourne In-Person Sanctuary
his session is for the person who is constantly communicating — speaking, posting, explaining — yet still not feeling fully heard.
Or for the one who has gone quiet… holding words inside because expression feels too complex, too vulnerable, or too misunderstood.
In this session, we step out of performance and into flow.
Through Suminagashi — one of the oldest Japanese paper marbling practices, dating back to the 12th century — we enter a space where control softens and something more honest begins to move.
Ink floats on water.
Patterns form before they are fixed.
Nothing can be forced — only witnessed, guided, and received.
The process becomes a mirror for communication itself:
what rises, what spreads, what dissolves, and what remains when your story finally lands.

CELESTIAL TIMING
Gemini season is active. Mercury’s pre-retrograde shadow begins at 10:54 am (Melbourne) on 13 June, followed by the Gemini New Moon on 15 June — a powerful threshold for revisiting communication, rewriting personal narratives, and listening to what lives beneath language.
CREATIVE MODALITIES
✦ Suminagashi-inspired paper marbling & flow art
✦ Narrative therapy practice: exploring three versions of the same story
✦ Story rewrite: from survival narrative to soul-aligned expression
✦ Communication ritual: the message that wants to be sent
✦ Mercury retrograde preparation: message clarity and clean-up
✦ Integration journaling and reflective anchoring
Grounded in the Active Kreative methodology, this session follows a four-stage arc — initiation, creation, activation, and affirmation — supporting emotional processing beyond words
WHAT YOU MAY DISCOVER
Participants are supported to:
Identify one outdated or inherited story ready to be rewritten
Clarify one mixed or emotionally charged message
Experience emotional regulation through fluid, sensory art-making
Create a marbled artwork as a physical imprint of a new narrative
Leave with a practical communication ritual for the coming week
This work engages both the nervous system and creative expression, supporting emotional regulation through sensory-based processes — a core principle in creative arts therapy
WHY FLOWING ART WORKS
Flow-based art practices like Suminagashi allow the mind to release control while the body processes emotion.
Instead of forcing clarity, clarity emerges through movement.
This is especially powerful during Gemini season, where communication is heightened — and often overloaded. Rather than adding more words, this session offers a non-verbal pathway into truth, expression, and coherence.
WHO THIS IS FOR
This session is for you if:
✦ You feel misunderstood despite communicating often
✦ You over-explain, over-edit, or hold back your truth
✦ You are navigating emotional complexity or inner transition
✦ You want to explore art therapy, emotional healing, and self-expression
✦ You are seeking a gentle, embodied way to reconnect with your voice
No artistic experience is needed. Only willingness to arrive.
THE OUTCOME
You leave not with a perfect artwork —
but with something more valuable:
A clearer internal signal.
A softer relationship with your story.
A message that feels true enough to send.
BRIDGE → 20 JUNE ONLINE (SOLSTICE SESSION)
After language comes alignment.
The Solstice session moves from expression into coherence, gratitude, and recalibration — anchoring what has been spoken into a structure that can hold your next season.

-
A marbling art workshop uses a traditional Japanese technique called Suminagashi, where ink is floated on water to create organic, flowing patterns that are transferred onto paper. In this Melbourne creative workshop, the process is combined with art therapy and reflective practices to support emotional expression and personal insight.
-
This is a creative arts therapy–informed workshop, not a traditional art class. The focus is on emotional exploration, nervous system regulation, and self-expression through art — not on technical skill or perfect results.
-
Marbling art engages the senses and nervous system through fluid movement and unpredictability. This allows emotions to be processed without needing to verbalise everything. Creative arts therapies are known to support stress regulation, emotional release, and clarity by working through the body and senses rather than only the mind.
-
Yes. This session is designed for people experiencing mental overload, emotional tension, or difficulty expressing themselves. The process is slow, sensory, and non-judgmental, supporting regulation and grounding.
-
Unlike standard art classes, this workshop integrates:
Art therapy principles
Narrative and reflective practices
Nervous system–aware facilitation
A small, supportive creative circle environment
It is part of The Atlas Creative Circle, a structured journey focused on self-discovery through art.
